Support the Asian American / Pacific Islander (AAPI) Community
Between March 19, 2020 and February 28, 2021, the Stop AAPI Hate reporting center received 3,795 reports of hate incidents (source). That number only represents a fraction of total incidents since not all incidents get reported. And according to a report by the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism, anti-Asian hate crimes across 16 large US cities increased by nearly 150% in 2020 despite an overall decline in hate crimes. In Seattle specifically, there’s been a 55% increase since the pandemic began. In light of these numbers and the recent shooting in Atlanta, SPIN has compiled the following resources to help folks support the AAPI community and to #StopAsianHate.
